Protege is Indy Metro Church's intentional pastoral and ministry internship system. We provide a natural local church environment with consistent relational, leadership, and ministry mentoring for proactive interns to pursue service to the Lord in obedience to the Great Commission.
Downtown- Ryan & Katie Sawrie
Ryan and Katie Sawrie have been involved with Indy Metro for two years now after moving downtown in April 2008. They have been married for 2 years and currently live in Indy's Herron-Morton neighborhood. Both Purdue graduates, Ryan works at a small downtown advertising agency and Katie works as an engineer on the northside.
Ryan and Katie have a heart for foreign missions and college ministry. During their internship, they will be focusing on expanding Indy Metro's presence at IUPUI, engaging with college students, integrating our mission in Guatemala into the whole church, and leading First Impressions in our downtown campus. In addition, Katie will be focused on expanding our discipleship and support for women.

Eastside- Dave & Holly Combs
Dave and Holly love working with and among creative people and have a heart to inspire people to use their creative gifts for the Kingdom. They are focused on serving in IMC's eastside campus and building a creative arts team of individuals committed to developing their gifts to edify the body and bless the community.
They have been married nine years. They homeschool their two children, Seaira and Alden ages six and four. They are both graphic designers and Holly is also an art teacher and Young Audiences teaching artist. Together they have published a contemporary urban art magazine and have owned and operated an art gallery in Indianapolis.

Eastside- Allen & Kristin Bunch
Allen and Kristin Bunch have been involved with Indy Metro from the beginning. They have been married for 7 years. Allen works as a firefighter for the Indianapolis Fire Department as well as the Army National Guard. Kristin is on staff at Indy Metro as the Bookkeeper.
They have a heart to serve their community on the Near Eastside and will be focused on supporting east side CityGroups and one-on-one discipleship. They recently opened their home, and are now living communally with 3 other members of Indy Metro. Although they do not currently have children, they do plan to adopt several children in the near future.
